Woman hit by speedboat at Mannum, airlifted to hospital
Plus firefighters contain a mulch fire at Kanmantoo, police return some stolen navy memorabilia and more.
A 20-year-old woman has been seriously hurt after being hit by a boat at Mannum on Sunday.
The local woman was airlifted to hospital in Adelaide after the collision, which occurred in the River Murray around 7pm.
The boat’s driver, a 48-year-old West Lakes Shore woman, allegedly returned a blood alcohol reading of 0.148 after the accident – almost three times the legal limit.
Police placed her under arrest; charged her with causing harm, operating a vessel without due care and drink driving; and denied her bail ahead of a court appearance in Murray Bridge on Tuesday.
Anyone with footage or information which may help police investigate the incident should contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or at www.crimestopperssa.com.au.
Just last week, police had urged everyone to stay safe on the river over the Australia Day long weekend, and to abstain from drinking or using drugs while operating a boat.

Stolen naval memorabilia returned
Meanwhile, police have recovered a stolen collection of Royal Australian Navy memorabilia and returned it to its “thrilled” owner.
Police allegedly found the badges, epaulette and other items on a property at Wellington on Tuesday, along with a Millard caravan, tools and jewellery which had also been stolen.
They also allegedly found an air rifle.
Officers charged a 27-year-old man with theft, unlawful possession and possession of a firearm without a licence.
He was due to face court in Murray Bridge on Wednesday.
