Two die in crashes at the Bend Motorsport Park and Burdett
Separate collisions have claimed two lives in the Murraylands in less than 24 hours.

Two people have died in separate vehicle accidents in the Murraylands in two days.
A motorbike racer died in a crash at the Bend Motorsport Park just before 11am on Sunday.
Emergency services were called out to the circuit at Tailem Bend, but were unable to save the person.
A round of Motorcycling SA’s road race championship was being held at the venue at the time.
Murray Bridge News understands that the person who died was a participant.
Police will prepare a report for the coroner.
Meanwhile, a 61-year-old Tailem Bend man died in another crash at Burdett on Monday morning.
Emergency services raced out to a point on Boundary Road, about a kilometre north of the Karoonda Highway, where a Holden ute collided with a tree around 8.30am.
The Medstar rescue helicopter was called out, but the man – who was the only occupant of the car – died before reaching hospital.
Boundary Road was expected to remain closed throughout Monday while major crash investigators looked at the scene.
The man was the 76th person to die on South Australian roads this year.
Two drivers pulled over
Meanwhile, traffic police have picked up two motorists on Murraylands roads over the weekend:
- A 19-year-old man from the Australian Capital Territory who was allegedly doing 169 kilometres per hour on the Mallee Highway at Peake around 10.15am on Friday; he lost his licence for six months, was fined $2126 and copped nine demerit points
- A 61-year-old Murray Mallee man who was allegedly driving a B-double on the Old Princes Highway at Long Flat while using methamphetamine and cocaine on Friday, and who had also allegedly failed to complete his log book or get enough rest in a 24-hour period; he lost his licence for three months and will appear in court
