Local op shop owner Sally Lockwood is hoping to raise $1000 for a Fijian school destroyed in a fire.
This Saturday, February 22 from 8am, Ms Lockwood will host a fundraising sale at her home on Ashbrook Road.
There will be an assortment of jewellery, bric-a-brac, electrical goods, household items and clothing, with all proceeds supporting the Christian Outreach College in Suva.
Just before the school term was set to begin, a devastating fire broke out and unfortunately firefighters were unable to fully contain the blaze due to a lack of water in the hydrants.
Each time progress was made, the inferno reignited, ultimately consuming everything in its path.
The fire destroyed everything—classrooms, books, records, instruments, furniture, and even all the church equipment essential to the community.

The school holds a special place in Ms Lockwood's heart as her closest friend is its principal.
"Having worked in Kenya for 25 years, I understand the importance of education and giving the kids hope for a future," she said.
"Immediately (after hearing about the fire) I knew I had to do something ... so within half an hour I was planning.
"They just lost so much, but no lives, fortunately."
The college has been serving the Suva community for nearly 30 years, providing education and care.
Ms Lockwood is determined to help it fulfil its goal of rebuilding.
Every contribution, no matter how small, will help restore hope, rebuild what was lost, and ensure that the students and community can thrive once again.
Ms Lockwood is also happy to accept any volunteers that may want to help set up the fundraiser.
