Police are currently investigating a fire in Wellington East.

Emergency services were called to Riley Road just before 5.30am on Saturday after reports of a house and car fire.

Twenty firefighters attended on four trucks and a bulk water carrier, supported by South Australia Police.

The fire caused an estimated $150,000 in damages, but their prompt response contained it, saving a caravan and shed on the property.

Fire cause investigators attended the scene to try to determine the cause of the fire which still remains unknown.

Mobility scooter stolen

Police are also investigating a theft from a Murray Bridge home last week.

Between last Tuesday and Wednesday, October 8-9, a backyard on Margaret Street was entered during the night and the victim's mobility scooter was stolen.

The scooter is black/grey in colour and similar to the one pictured.

Drink driver loses his licence

Finally, a Murray Bridge man has been disqualified from driving for six months after being picked up allegedly drink driving early on Saturday morning.

Police pulled over a Subaru wagon on the Old Princes Highway at Murray Bridge East at 1.25am.

Its driver allegedly returned a blood alcohol reading of 0.08.

The 36-year-old man was reported for drink driving, his car was impounded and he will face Murray Bridge Magistrates Court.
