It’s official: Christmas season is starting.

Murray Bridge’s annual riverfront Christmas festival will go ahead this Saturday and, for the first time, on Friday night as well.

You won’t need a ticket – you’ll just need to check in when you arrive.

There will be a few differences from previous years, as required by SA Health – for example, the entire event will be held in a fenced-in area at Sturt Reserve.

But the good news is that there will be the usual range of rides, market stalls, food trucks and live entertainment.

The pageant will be at 4pm on Saturday, with a fireworks show to follow at 9pm.

Between that and the Christmas tree festival at Murray Bridge Town Hall – and the fact that decorations are up in shops, streets and front yards – we can safely say the countdown to the festive season has begun.
