If youāre looking for something to get out and see this weekend ā despite the chilly weather forecast ā Mypolonga might be the place to go.
The town will host the state road cycling championships on Saturday, and state time trials on Sunday.
Riders will compete on a loop starting and finishing at the Mypolonga Institute and heading down Wool Shed Road, Mypolonga Road and Balanada Drive.
Now that itās August, be sure to get around and check out some of the local exhibitions for the SALA Festival, too, including Leanne McCulloughās at Wellington Hall today and tomorrow; and think about River Lights, the Illuminate Adelaide installation at Mannum starting tomorrow, too.

Hip-hop workshop with Optamus: 5.30-8.30pm at the Station, Murray Bridge. Donāt miss out on your chance to connect with this Perth hip-hop legend in the flesh; heāll be fired up and ready to share his knowledge with local artists; for ages 12-25.
River Lights: 6-10pm on Randall Street and at Mary Ann Reserve and Arnold Park, Mannum. First night of a nightly Illuminate Adelaide installation which will transform Mannumās main street and riverfront with dazzling light displays; continues each night until August 13.

River Murray football and netball: Jervois v Tailem Bend at Jervois Combined Sports Club; Southern Mallee v Mypolonga at Lameroo Sport Grounds; Imperials v Coorong at Johnstone Park, Murray Bridge; Mannum v Ramblers at Mannum Showgrounds.
Auscycling road and time trial state championships: From 9am, starting at Mypolonga Institute. Back in Mypolonga for the fourth year, this cycling road-race course features a couple of short climbs, a touch of gravel and a fast and flowy descent back down before a kick up to the finish line. Continues Sunday.
Gus and the Tangents: 5-10pm at Carob and Hare, 14 Old Princes Highway, Kanmantoo. Food, wine, music and fun with music from the 1950s and 60s; entry includes dinner, dessert, tea and coffee. Tickets: $30 at www.eventbrite.com.au.

Cars and Coffee Murray Bridge: 8amā10am at the wharf precinct car park, Murray Bridge. Check out the cars on display and grab a hot coffee and a bite to eat in the wharf precinct alongside the Murray River. Coffee, hot chocolates, milkshakes, cool drinks, doughnuts and egg and bacon rolls will be available to purchase.
