There is a heap of stuff happening around our region this weekend, including national motorbike racing at Monarto and the annual neighbour muster at Rockleigh.

But let’s kick off with a live music event at the Station on Saturday night, where award-winning theatre producer Hannah Smith will present a lineup of local artists aged 12 to 25.

“This is my favourite event of the year,” she said.

“Imagine snuggling up on a couch, hot food in one hand and hot chocolate in the other, while listening to live local music.

“It doesn't get any better than this on a Saturday night.”

Entry is free, and low-cost food and drinks will be available.

Be captivated by the talents of local musicians from 12 to 25 years old as they take to the stage at the Station. Award-winning producer Hannah Smith has organised the free event in conjunction with the Station. The evening will have acoustic performances fit for the whole family to enjoy. A nature walk on the wild side: 9am–2pm at Monarto Safari Park, 63 Monarto Safari Park, Monarto. See nature off the beaten track at Monarto Safari Park. If you’re a bird watcher, wild-flower lover or just enjoy wandering through bushlands, then you’ll enjoy this inclusive experience. Join expert horticulturalist volunteer guides for a stroll through the scrub to witness the arrival of spring in the Mallee. The walk is around 5km long and covers uneven and rocky ground. National Science Week – Water and the diversity of life it supports: 10am–4.30pm at the Murray Bridge Performing Arts and Function Centre. Get involved in National Science Week by learning about the wonders of our waterways. Waterway to spend a day! Participants can join in a series of engaging mini-conferences, with speakers presenting their work related to water and its signficiance to our region. Kids can learn about the environment in a supervised kids’ activities room, with Bugs n Slugs and different displays that showcase the wonders of nature. Lunch and afternoon tea will be provided. Celebration of non-ridden horses: From 10am at the Monarto Sporting Complex. A showcase for horses who cannot be ridden, including hand classes and agility obstacle course, hosted by Lincoln Park Horse and Human Rehabilitation Centre.

Meet your neighbours and district colleagues. Lunch (including vegetarian options), soup, tea and coffee are all free. Hear from the CFS about fire safety and chat about other local issues. Relax around the fire. BYO drinks and something to share for afternoon tea. The free event is presented by the Rockleigh Progress Association and sponsored by the Murray Bridge council.
