The SALA Festival is upon us now that itâs August, and the Murraylandsâ first art exhibition opening of the season will be at Tailem Bend this Friday night.

What Will Be: 10am-4pm on weekdays and 11am-3pm on weekends at Murray Bridge Marketplace. Discover a diverse group of local artists at this SALA Festival exhibition.
Loss, grief and trauma information session: 10am-1pm at Murray Bridge Library. Presented by Murray Bridge Lutheran Community, learn how to heal the body, mind and spirit as well as how to stay sane and safe while grieving. River Murray football and netball: Southern Mallee v Jervois at Lameroo Oval; Coorong Cats v Imperials at Tintinara Oval; Mannum v Ramblers at Mannum Showground; Tailem Bend v Mallee at Jaensch Park, Tailem Bend. A grade netball at 12.30pm, league football at 2.30pm.
Off-street drags: 9am-6pm at the Dragway at the Bend, Tailem Bend. Provides the unique opportunity for legal off-street drag racing. Come and see some of SAâs quickest street-registered cars and bikes. Harley Davidson hour from 12 noon. All makes and models, modern and classic. Free for kids 15 and under. Kids and teens art classes: 10am-12pm at Baden Powell Hall, 27 Sixth Street, Murray Bridge. Free art classes during August focusing on kids and teens lived experiences and mental health. Participants can explore different art materials such as drawing with pens, pencils and oil pastels, painting and mixed media whilst creating in a safe, non judgmental environment. Horse racing: Gates open 11am, first race at 12.02pm at Murray Bridge Racing Club, Gifford Hill. Thereâs nothing like a day at the races. Tickets from $22 at www.moshtix.com.au.
Great Detectives: All New Mysteries: 7.30-9.30pm at Murray Bridge Performing Arts and Function Centre (town hall). Be immersed in suspense as we recreate the experience of attending a 1950s radio recording live on stage. This is a night of mystery, comedy and intrigue not to be missed, featuring fan favourite detectives Candy Matson and Johnny Dollar in two new mysteries. Cars and Coffee: 8-10am in the wharf precinct car park, Wharf Road, Murray Bridge. Check out the cars on display, have a coffee and a bite to eat in the beautiful wharf precinct alongside the Murray River. Coffee, hot chocolates, milkshakes, cool drinks, donuts and egg and bacon rolls available to purchase. Family friendly event held on the first Sunday of the month.

Reflections on Homelessness exhibition opening: 11am-12pm at Murray Bridge Regional Gallery. This exhibition is a valuable opportunity to take a moment to broaden our minds about what homelessness means and how itâs experienced. Guest speaker Shane Maddocks, CEO of AC Care. Exhibition runs from August 3 to September 1.
