Teenager caught speeding at 140km/h on Old Swanport Road
Murray Bridge police have fined a 17-year-old more than $2000 for his "selfish and dangerous" behaviour on the road.
A Murray Bridge teenager has been fined more than $2000 after allegedly being caught travelling at 140 kilometres per hour in an 80 zone.
Police allegedly detected the 17-year-old boyâs Nissan Pulsar travelling at 60km/h above the speed limit on Old Swanport Road.
An officer on a motorcycle convinced the driver to pull over at 3.30pm on Monday.
He was fined $2222 and lost his licence for six months on the spot.
SA Police Sergeant Paul Watts said the P-platerâs driving could have got someone killed.
âIt is fortunate that police detected, intercepted and put a stop to this young manâs selfish and dangerous driving behaviour,â he said.
