Rubbish dumping is still a problem in the Murraylands
Brinkley residents are seeing the issue first hand and aren't happy about it.
The issue of roadside rubbish dumping has risen once again in the Murraylands.
A Brinkley resident recently contacted Murray Bridge News about a load of rubbish dumped on their property.
Most items in the dump-and-run could have easily fit in an ordinary rubbish bin.
Other residents had found rubbish strewn along Pfeiffer Road, Pearson Road, Pope Road, Brinkley Road and out at Mulgundawa.
“It makes us feel ill, our property violated, our hard work to keep our property clean, tidy, and looked after is challenged,” the resident said.
“Nobody seems to care any more … look on the side of any road.
“The trouble is, all of this rubbish blows into a paddock where food is being grown, or where water is running into rivers.”
Last year the Murray Bridge council encouraged more locals to take advantage of their once-a-year free rubbish pickups.
All households in Murray Bridge are entitled to one free kerbside hard waste collection or one free tip pass per financial year.
