Shoulders are sore but minds are willing around Murray Bridge this week as a fundraising challenge for a local mental health organisation gets underway.
The Push-Up Challenge began on Wednesday, with more than 30 locals having promised to attempt 3307 push-ups β or exercise reps on par with their ability β to support Headspace Murray Bridge.
The number is the same as the number of Australians who lose their lives to suicide each year.
Personal trainers Tiffany Henderson, Kirsty Smith and Rhianna Leyland led a dozen participants through warm-up exercises and sets of 10 push-ups at Headspace in the afternoon, with upbeat music to gee them up.
More than $2900 had already been raised for the youth mental health centre at the end of day one, with 1537 push-ups banked.
