Acoustic Sessions will shine a spotlight on young musos

Acoustic Sessions will return to Murray Bridge's youth centre, the Station, this Saturday, delivering an evening of live and local music for the community from 6-9pm.

Delivered by the Murray Bridge council, Acoustic Sessions is an annual, free community music event for all ages that celebrates the musical talents of local young people aged 12-25.

This year's event will offer a relaxed acoustic atmosphere in a welcoming space where young performers can present their work in front of a live audience.

The program will feature a mix of covers and original music across a range of popular genres, offering something for all music tastes.

“Acoustic Sessions was created to give young musicians the opportunity to perform in an authentic and supportive environment,” youth development officer Aiden Fargher said.

“We wanted Acoustic Sessions to capture a little of that Unplugged in New York magic – stripped back, authentic, and all about the music".

"More importantly, it’s an opportunity where young people can share their voice and musical skills with their community,” Mr Fargher said.

The Station provides a professional live music environment with a dedicated stage, quality sound system and lighting, supporting young people to deliver a high-quality performance experience in a safe and inclusive setting.

The event will also include art and activities, alongside food available from McCue’s Bakery, with affordable options for attendees.

Acoustic Sessions was designed to encourage participation in youth-led activities, strengthen engagement with young people, and promote broader community connection through council-supported youth initiatives, the council said.

It also supported wider engagement opportunities, including connections to skate park engagement and youth programs.

The event will be free to attend.
