Sturt Reserve will be the place to be this weekend for a competitive spectacle on the water and family fun off it.

Wakeboard SA will contest two rounds of the state championships on Saturday and Sunday.

If sitting by the river and watching South Australia's best perform tricks sounds like just the trick, grab a deck chair and a few snacks and head on down.

Meanwhile, the Murray River Splash festival will continue today, tomorrow and over the weekend, offering free children's activities of all sorts, from laser tag and mini golf to kayaking, magic and wildlife workshops.

Another highlight will be the Rhyme, Grind and Climb event on Saturday night at the skate park.

If you’ve got kids of any age, you're sure to find something worth checking out.

SA Water’s Dan Becker and Cam O’Malley will educate kids about what happens to poo when it gets flushed down the loo at one of the River Murray Splash festival’s more unusual events. Photo: SA Water.
