With up to 1000 people expected at an open-air street theatre on Sixth Street on Saturday night, and shows all weekend, it was already going to be a big one in Murray Bridge.

Throw in the richest horse race in the city’s history, a Speedway event, Mannum Fun Run and more and we’re talking about a big, big weekend.

The weather is supposed to be warm and sunny, so you’ve got almost no excuse for not getting out and enjoying it.

Let’s start with the Murray Bridge Fringe: 13 shows over three days, mostly at Murray Bridge Town Hall.

Of course I’ll suggest you get your tickets for Get Back: a Night of the Beatles – I’ll be performing alongside four superbly talented local musos – but beyond that, there will be much more music, magic, kids’ shows and so on.

Be sure to get out and support your performers of choice, because with venues’ capacity limited due to COVID, they need to sell every ticket they can.

Then there’s the Magic Millions: formerly run at Morphettville and set to draw a big crowd to the Gifford Hill racecourse on Saturday.

If you’re into horse racing, it’ll be a day to remember, with more than $200,000 in prizes up for grabs in the feature race.

If not, head up to Mannum and race for yourself – and stop in at the markets while you’re there.

See you out there!
