South Australia’s elite road cyclists will return to Mypolonga this weekend for the 2021 state championships.
From a base at the Institute, cyclists in six age groups will race along Balanada Drive, up Merriwa Road, around onto Mypolonga Road and back via Balanada Drive and South Bokara Road to Green Street.
Auscycling SA general manager Lachie Ambrose said last year’s championships – the first to be held at the Murraylands town – had been a hit.
“Of all the new crit and road courses that we’ve come up with over the past five years, I don’t think we've ever seen such universally positive reviews as we did for this course,” he said.
“I have confidence that in the coming years this will become a true classic of the South Australian road racing season.”
A junior time trial championships will be held on Sunday.
Spectators will be welcome to come and watch.
