Sports reports: Murray Bridge hosts annual open fours bowling tournament

The Murray Bridge Bowling Club has held its annual open fours tournament on Monday, with 22 teams across South Australia participating in the competition.
The Victor Harbor team placed first in the competition.
They were followed by Encounter Bay and Murray Bridge.
Tony Penhall and Charmaine Alpin claim victory at the weekly golf competition
The Murray Bridge Golf Club has held its weekly golf competition on Sunday, with 68 players participating in the Stableford competition.
In the men's competition, Tony Penhall claimed the overall number one spot, achieving a score of 38.
Mark Bolton and Mark Sappenberghs were the grade A winners, achieving a score of 38 and 35.
Craig Hogben and Dirk Jesussek were the grade B winners and achieved the high scores of 37 and 34.
The winners of the grade C competition were Glenn Bargeus and Robert Mccormick with both men achieving the score of 36.
Nearest the pin were Stephen Hartley (2), Damian Dolman (5), Mark Mayfield (11), Jordan Powell (14) and Mark Bolton (17).
The overall winner of the women's competition was Charmaine Alpin, achieving the very high score of 40 points.
Ms Alpin was closely followed behind by Kathryn Pfeiffer with the score of 37 and Mary Langsford with the score of 36.
Nearest the pin for the women was Mary Langsford (14).
Triple 180s scored at darts competition
Justin Fullgrabe has pulled off a remarkable feat in round nine of the weekly Murray Bridge darts competition by throwing three consecutive 180s.
Not wanting to miss out on the action, Kevin Young and James Little both threw two 180s as well.
Round nine of the competition had teams across South Australia competing against one another.

Terrific Nero secures victory at Greyhound Country Cup heat
Terrific Nero has secured victory at a 2026 Greyhound Country Cup heat on Friday afternoon.
Nero completed the race in an outstanding time of 29.81 seconds.
Veteran racer Fantastic Spike proved that old dogs can in fact learn new tricks by achieving the quickest time on a 530 metre track with the time of 29.64 seconds.
