Known for his enthusiastic spirit and new distinctive western attire, complete with boots and hats, Rodney Grigg has embraced line dancing wholeheartedly.

His excitement is palpable as he prepares for future performances around the Murraylands.

“I can’t wait to wear some leather off these new western boots and get a sweat-up dancing along with some great country music,” Mr Grigg said.

“I love country music and the Tailem Bend crew are so much fun to be around – they’re always up for a laugh or two between dances.”

Tailem’s line dancing is offered by the Tailem Bend Community Centre as part of their extensive community-based activities plan.

The classes are lead by dance instructor Sandy Przibilla, a Tailem Bend local who puts all the dancers through their paces.

“We turn on the tunes, turn up the volume and away we go, starting with a couple of slow warm up numbers, before slowly moving towards the faster, more complicated, moves later in the session,” Ms Przibilla said.

“Dancers can rest whenever they like; some just love to sing along and tap their feet as they watch others dance to their heart’s content.”

Line dancing is much more than just a dance class for Ms Przibilla, it’s a social affair that brings people together in a shared pursuit of rhythm and fun.

The sessions foster an environment where participants can laugh, learn, and lift each other up, creating a strong sense of camaraderie and friendship among fellow dancers.

Ms Przibilla’s sessions are designed to be inclusive and accessible, ensuring that everyone, regardless of their dancing skills, can take part and enjoy.

The line dancing sessions enable participants to develop their skills, increase their confidence, and enjoy the physical and social benefits of dancing.

The line dancing classes take place every Tuesday at the Tailem town hall from 10am to 11:30am.

Everyone from beginners to advanced dancers are welcomed to join the classes.
