Free activities will be on offer at a family fun day on Murray Bridge’s riverfront this Saturday.

Families are invited to head to Sturt Reserve from 4pm for activities, food and live music.

The day’s activities, all free, will include:

  • Scooter, skating and BMX lessons
  • An inflatable obstacle course
  • A SANFL footy fun zone
  • Mini golf
  • Face painting and glitter tattoos
  • Stand-up paddle boarding
  • A smoothie bike
  • Chalk art
  • Water tag
  • Balloon bending

The Rotary Club of Murray Bridge will cook a barbecue, and young musicians from the Station will perform.

Murray Bridge Mayor Wayne Thorley encouraged everyone to come out for “a fantastic day of summer holiday activities … suitable for everyone”.

The event was organised by Reclink with support from the Station, the Rotary Club, Headspace Murray Bridge and the SANFL.

In previous years, Sturt Reserve would usually have hosted family activities on weekends throughout January under the banner of the Murray River Splash festival.

However, the city’s council cancelled that event in October so its staff could focus on this Friday’s Tour Down Under stage and other events.
