Romani’s successful $10,000 grant application will pay for a new display cabinet that will house an extended collection of memorabilia at the aged care facility.

Member for Barker Tony Pasin visited Romani this week and congratulated the organisation on applying for and receiving the funding.

“It’s so important that as a community we continue to commemorate all those who served,” he said.

“I congratulate RSL Care SA and Romani facility on taking this initiative.”

The grant comes from the Saluting their Service (STS) Commemorative Grants Program, which aims to commemorate the sacrifice of Australia’s service personnel in wars, conflicts and peace operations, as well as their families.

Under this grants program, up to $3.5 million is available for distribution each financial year, split across three batches throughout the year.

The grants provide funding for projects and activities that promote appreciation and understanding of the experiences of those Australians who have served, as well as preserving or providing access to information about Australia’s wartime heritage.
