Old Murray Bridge closures planned for early September
The bridge will be shut on three nights next week as a long-running upgrade continues.
The Old Murray Bridge will be closed for three evenings next week as a long-running repair job continues.
The bridge will be shut between 7pm and 6am on:
Wednesday, September 6
Thursday, September 7
Friday, September 8
Workers will use the closures to lay new asphalt at the approaches to each end of the bridge.
Motorists will need to detour via the South Eastern Freeway and the Swanport Bridge during those times, but pedestrians and cyclists will still be able to cross.
The state Department for Infrastructure and Transport said every effort was being made to minimise the number of bridge closures required between now and the completion of works, expected in early 2024.
The $46 million project began 15 months ago.
