Work continues on Lower Murray levees
Recreational activities are still prohibited during remediation works on the Lower Murray levees.

Remediation works have commenced in Murray Bridge for government levees damaged in the 2022-23 River Murray floods.
On-ground works have started at the Mobilong and Burdett levees, and works at Neeta and Cowirra are expected to commence in early March.
The project is designed to return sections of levees both government and privately owned levees to their pre-flood height.
Remediation works at Pompoota, Long Flat, Wall Flat and Mypolonga, which began last July, have now been completed.
All government levees will remain closed to the public until a full safety and risk assessment is completed.
Recreational activities will not be permitted on the levees during this time, including:
- walking and running
- cycling
- fishing
- driving vehicles
- mooring houseboats and other vessels.
Access to private levees are up to the landholders’ discretion, however access is not permitted where remediation works are being undertaken.
The results of the on-ground geotechnical investigations are being analysed, with draft reports expected soon.
The LMRIA levees intermediate remediation project is being jointly funded by the federal and state governments.
