Murray Bridge heated pool reopens
Members of the public are invited back to the hydrotherapy pool at Country Health Connect, behind the hospital, after a long closure due to COVID-19.

The wait is over – Murray Bridge’s heated pool has reopened at last.
The hydrotherapy pool at the city’s hospital is now available for use by members of the public and patients in need of hydrotherapy once again.
Members of the public can visit between 7.30 and 10.30am, and 3.30-7pm, Monday to Wednesday.
One more day each week has been set aside for hydrotherapy patients.
Admission costs $7, $6 for concession card holders or $5 for children aged three to 14.
Allied health operations manager Lucy Alford said Country Health Connect was in the process of recruiting more staff so that the pool’s operating hours could be extended.
She expected strong demand from all corners of the community: “littlies, people from our older population, people who have issues with mobility, people who need to be in the pool to exercise safely, people doing rehab”.
The pool had been closed since the COVID-19 pandemic began, aside from a brief period in 2021 when it had reopened for one-on-one hydrotherapy appointments.
Given the risk of viral transmission in the warm, humid environment, health authorities opted to keep it shut until the number of active COVID cases in the Murray Bridge district fell below 100.
About 60 people per day visited the pool prior to the pandemic.
The only other options for people wanting to swim in Murray Bridge have been the open-air swimming centre on Adelaide Road, which will reopen on October 29, and the River Murray.
