Happy Christmas from Murray Bridge News

From my family to yours: happy Christmas, and thanks for another great year.

As far as Murray Bridge News goes, anyway.

With your support, I’ve been able to publish more than 600 local stories this year – including more original reporting than any other news service in our region – on everything from our housing shortage to last week’s Lions Christmas raffle. I’ve recently bought a company car from Fischer Motors, and got it decked out by Sign Designs 4U, so you can be sure I’ll be there when you’ve got a story that needs telling. And over the next few weeks, with your indulgence, I’ll even be able to take a break with my girls.

The December 23 edition of Murray Bridge News will be the last one until January 20, 2022. I’ll still be in town for much of that time, including New Year’s Eve, so if anything urgent crops up I’ll do my best to let you know; and I’ll send you a year-in-review post after Christmas. But I’ll also take some time to switch off and recharge for the year ahead.

There’s a lot I’m looking forward to. We’ll have three elections – state, federal and local – and I hope to report on them in a new way, putting your questions at the heart of my coverage. I’ll have some exciting news about a new way of reading Murray Bridge News stories pretty soon. And I hope to keep growing your local, independent news service into a more sustainable operation, hopefully with more than one employee!
