You know Christmas is getting close when the Lions Club of Murray Bridge draws its annual raffle.
They set up the old lottery barrel at Murray Bridge Marketplace on Friday afternoon and, one by one, Hylton Moritz drew out the winners' names.
The first prize, a trolley full of toys and Christmas goodies, went to Mick White; remaining winners' names are below.
Mr Moritz thanked each of the 2000 people who had bought a ticket – the last of them just a few minutes before the draw – as well as the local businesses which had sponsored the raffle and the shopping centre for hosting the draw.
The proceeds of the raffle, $4000 in total, will go towards local community projects.
During 2021, the Lions donated to organisations including the Murray Bridge CFS brigade, Foodbank SA, Lerwin Nursing Home, Scouts and Guides, the Murray Bridge hospital, Resthaven, Riding for the Disabled, the Salvation Army and Silent Ripples.
