Fortune smiles on Murray Bridge News’ latest giveaway winner
She supports independent local news as a reader and an advertising client; now Brittany Schulz is our subscriber giveaway winner for March 2025, too.

Karma has kicked in for Brittany Schulz, the winner of Murray Bridge News’ latest subscriber giveaway.
Though she has been a paying subscriber for just a few months, she had been an advertising client through her business – main street romance bookshop Fiction and Friction – and even a Halloween collaborator.
She also provided the tip-off which led to Murray Bridge News’ top story for the week of the giveaway, about Olympian Kyle Chalmers’ workshop with a group of young local swimmers.
So when her name was drawn at random from our list of paying subscribers on Thursday, the news team chuckled.
“It’s the best local news,” Ms Schulz said of this publication.
Other news sites were too often filled with irrelevant stories, she said – “you don’t want that”.
Managing editor Peri Strathearn popped into the shop on Thursday to drop off her prize.
Included were around $300 worth of goodies, including Fringe tickets and a T-shirt.
Also included in this month’s prize pack: a romance novel.
Hopefully she knows someone who appreciates the genre.
