Murray Bridge basketballer Ally Wilson will have another crack at making the biggest league in the world.

She recently accepted a training camp invite from the Washington Mystics.

Australia’s Women’s National Basketball League announced as much on April 14, and the Women’s National Basketball Association’s Mystics confirmed it on April 19.

Wilson, 32, would be one of the oldest players on the rebuilding Mystics.

The team finished in the bottom half of the WNBA last year, and are widely expected to lean on youth this season.

They also lost their starting point guard in an off-season expansion draft.

That could clear a path for Wilson, a shooting guard with the Perth Lynx.

Competing with her for jobs at the two guard positions will be:

  • Young all-star Sonia Citron
  • Bench players Lucy Olsen and Madison Scott
  • 2025 draft pick Georgia Amoore, who lost her whole season to an ACL injury
  • 2026 draft picks Rori Harmon, Cotie McMahon and Cassandre Prosper
  • Kamaria McDaniel, who played in China and Turkey last year

Wilson previously attended the Chicago Sky’s training camp in 2025, but did not make the cut.

She has been a WNBL first-team all-star with the Perth Lynx in each of the past two seasons.

She has also represented Australia at the Olympic Games, Commonwealth Games and Asia Cup.
