With borders opening, tourism operators hope for a busy summer

The Murraylands’ tourism operators are preparing to welcome back visitors from around Australia this summer.
The Murray River, Lakes and Coorong Tourism Alliance has launched a new guide booklet just in time for the rush, filled with lush images by local photographers Jacob Jennings, Dave Hartley and Katey Klingberg.
As well as being viewable online, 30,000 printed copies of the guide will be distributed to visitor information centres and other likely spots around South Australia.
Tourism development manager Bill Nehmy said road-trippers were likely to descend on the region over the coming months as COVID-related restrictions were lifted.
“Our region is a vital link between Victoria and Adelaide, and we expect this key visitor market to come back strong from this week, especially now that our visitor guide will be at many of their stop-off locations,” he said.
“On top of this, we know our proximity to Adelaide – coupled with our magnificent Murray River, Lakes and Coorong backdrop – means our region is in a great position to bounce back from COVID-19.
“I would encourage anyone who’s been considering a visit to take a look at the new digital flipbook and start planning their itinerary.”
