Watch out for speed cameras in the Murraylands

Police will again be keeping an eye out for speeding drivers in the Murraylands this week, so watch out.

Speed cameras may be stationed at any of the following locations:

  • Monteith: Princes Highway
  • Murray Bridge: Adelaide Road, Hindmarsh Road, Jaensch Road, Mannum Road, Maurice Road, Old Swanport Road, Seventh Street, South Eastern Freeway, Swanport Road
  • Murray Bridge East: Old Princes Highway
  • Tailem Bend: Dukes Highway, Mallee Highway, Princes Highway

More cameras will be set up further along the Dukes and Mallee highways, among other spots.

Digger stolen at Peake

Meanwhile, keep your eyes out for an orange Bobcat digger stolen from a business at Peake earlier this month.

The excavator, three buckets and a drill auger were all taken sometime between August 7-14.

Three drivers picked up

Finally, Murray Mallee traffic police have picked up three drivers for flouting the rules on local roads this week:

  • A 40-year-old Murray Bridge woman in a Ford sedan was allegedly caught speeding at 116 kilometres per hour in a 100 zone, and allegedly tested positive to methamphetamine, at 1pm on Saturday; she lost her licence for three months and may face court
  • A 33-year-old Warradale man in a Toyota van allegedly tested positive for methamphetamine on the Karoonda Highway, Murray Bridge at 3.15pm on Saturday; he lost his licence for three months and may face court
  • A 42-year-old Murray Bridge man allegedly returned a blood alcohol reading of 0.197, nearly four times the legal limit, after being breath-tested on Hindmarsh Road just before 7am on Sunday; he lost his licence for 12 months, had his car impounded for 28 days and will face court
