As votes are now open for the 2023 SA Top Tourism Town Awards, Murray Bridge mayor Wayne Thorley encourages people to have their say.

Your vote could help make Murray Bridge the top tourism town in South Australia.

Murray Bridge has been shortlisted as one of seven SA Top Tourism Towns for 2023, alongside Aldinga, Coober Pedy, Port Broughton, Port Pirie, Renmark and Victor Harbor.

Murray Bridge Mayor Wayne Thorley made an empassioned plea for community members and visitors alike to make it official that Murray Bridge was the best place to visit in SA.

“I know Murray Bridge is the best place in the country, but it’s time we let others know as well,” he said.

“I’m passionate about Murray Bridge, the relaxing lifestyle, the people, the convenience and all the amazing adventures we have to offer.

“When it comes to family holidays we have it all: water sports on the Murray River, nature trails, historical landmarks, Monarto Safari Park, the bunyip, great local food and so much more.

“Community votes are worth 25 per cent of the total submission score, so I encourage everyone to jump online, give Murray Bridge your support and help us to the lead.”

All voters will be in the running to win a $500 voucher for a weekend at an SA council-owned caravan park, thanks to the Local Government Association of South Australia.

The SA Top Tourism Town Awards recognise towns that offer visitors awesome experiences and are committed to encouraging and developing tourism in the region.

Voting closes at 9am on May 8, 2023.
