Variety Bash brings big fun and big hearts to Old Tailem Town
The Variety Bash is coming to Old Tailem Town, not just for a pit stop but a good cause.

This story also includes contributions from Suzanne Mackenzie.
Mark your calendars, because this August, the Northern Territory’s proudest convoy of colourful characters rolls into South Australia.
On August 17, the Variety NT Bash is making a spirited stop at Old Tailem Town Pioneer Village, from 9.30am to 12 noon.
It’s a week of fun, friendship, and giving back, in support of Variety—the children’s charity.
Aaron Brooks, Chair of Variety NT, said this year is extra special.
“We ain’t afraid of no cold.
“It’s been a long time between Nationals, and we are chomping at the bit to get amongst it —even if it means layering up in South Australia!
"We may be small, but we are mighty here in the NT.”

The Bash, themed Vine to Mine, kicks off on August 1 in the Coonawarra wine
region and rolls into Adelaide for the National Bash celebration on August 10.
But the real magic happens a few days earlier, from August 9 to 12, when Old Tailem Town throws open its gates for just $10 entry, with every dollar being donated to Variety Australia.
It’s a chance to step back in time while helping shape a brighter future.
Families and children from Tailem Bend’s Primary School and Genuine Support Services Australia in Murray Bridge will join the fun, receiving gifts and joy from the Variety Bash teams.
This isn’t just a pit stop —it’s a celebration of community, kindness, and the incredible work Variety does for children across the Northern Territory.
