Things to do in the Murraylands: May 29-June 4, 2026
Your guide to everything happening in Murray Bridge and surrounds this week, including Jervois Football Club's centenary.
Jervois Football Club is about to celebrate one of the proudest weekends in its history as it marks the 100th anniversary of its first match.
Since 1926, the Bluds have played on the same patch of land once donated by Oscar Flavel, an ancestor of current Murray Bridge Mayor Wayne Thorley.
This weekend players will pull on special centennial guernseys before taking on their fiercest rival, Imperials, and kicking on with meals, live music and more at the clubrooms.
On Sunday at 11am will be a memorial gathering commemorating past club members, followed by a family event with food trucks, jumping castles and more, and presentations in the afternoon.
The club’s 1936, 1966, 1986 and 2006 league premiership sides will get special recognition.
“We’ve got no pub, we’ve got no shop, we’ve got no town, really, so for (the club) to exist for 100 years is pretty good,” centenary committee chair Michelle Hill reckoned.
Supporters of the red and black are expected to come from Queensland, New South Wales, Victoria and the Northern Territory for the occasion.
