Things to do in the Murraylands: January 16-22
Your guide to everything happening in Murray Bridge and surrounds this week, including a Life Member Race Day.
The Murray Bridge Racing Club will honour the individuals who have shaped the Club over the last century with the inaugural Life Members Raceday this Saturday.
Murray Bridge Racing Club chairman and life member John Leahy revealed that the Chairman’s Choice Handicap would carry a special prize for the winning connections.
“Life Members Race Day is a terrific opportunity for the Murray Bridge Racing Club to acknowledge and celebrate the contributions that have helped build the club into what it is today,” he said.
Eight of the 10 races on the program will be sponsored by a life member or the family of a late-life member of the club, recognising the enormous contribution each has made to the local racing industry.
If horse racing isn't your speed, there'll be plenty of much louder and smokier drag racing action over two days at the Dragway at the Bend, with the noise starting from 10am on Saturday.
For something a bit more practical, from Tuesday through Friday take part in the Great School Uniform Exchange at Murray Bridge Marketplace, helping kids in need – more info below.
With fantastic summer weather on the forecast and so many things to do for the school holidays, there's no excuse not to get out of the house.
