Fringe season will roll on this weekend with a return appearance by local comic Kalah Lovegrove, among several other big shows.

Movin’ Melvin Brown will be visiting from the US, too, and there will be a paint and sip workshop at the Bridgeport – be sure to check out our Fringe guide for a complete list of what the festival has to offer.

In the meantime, we have plenty more local events to suggest, including something pretty outlandish at Tailem this Friday night...

Children's drawing workshop with illustrator Paul Rutter: 4-5pm at Murray Bridge Library. Join Paul Rutter, author, illustrator, and animator, for a hands-on drawing workshop where kids will learn to sketch amazing desert animals step by step. Friday Night Rampage: 6.30-9pm at Tailem Bend Town Hall. Get ready to unleash your inner wrestling fan and watch heat up. MBCCC open day: 10.30am-12.30pm at Murray Bridge Community Children's Centre. A day of fun, laughter and hands-on play for the whole family. Explore the centre, meet its educators, and enjoy some fantastic activities including petting zoo, bubble fairy, face painting, sausage sizzle and more. Kids DIY – robot craft: 11-11.45am and 12.30-1.15pm at Bunnings Murray Bridge. Get ready to build and create your very own robot craft. This workshop is a fun way to explore shapes, textures and imagination as you design a robot using different materials. Children must be accompanied by a parent/guardian at all times. Neon Paint n Sip: 3pm at the Bridgeport Hotel, Murray Bridge. Forget boring white canvases, we’re turning the lights down and the glow factor up. Grab your favourite drink, pick your neon palette and watch your creation explode with fluoro colours under the black lights. Twilight Round and schnitty night: From 4pm at Murray Bridge Lawn Tennis Association. Join the club for their twilight round and enjoy a schnitty or two. The bar will be open, so settle in for a drink, great company and a relaxed club vibe. Movin' Melvin Brown: 7.30pm at Murray Bridge Performing Arts and Function Centre. Living legend Movin' Melvin Brown returns with his multi-awarded musical that sold out in Edinburgh and around the world. From New Orleans jazz to Texas country, and even Michael Jackson, he tap-dances to it all. Straight Outta Church: 8pm at the Bridgeport Hotel, Murray Bridge. A hilarious show about being a Black mum and a Christian mum … and how they don’t always align. Kalah Lovegrove blends church, culture and comedy into a show packed with real talk, big laughs and relatable chaos. Murray Bridge Cars and Coffee: 8-10am at the wharf precinct, Murray Bridge. A family friendly car social meet in a beautiful riverfront location. Featuring awesome cars, bikes and even boats. Food and coffee van onsite. A specialist window tinter will be available to answer your questions. Priority parking is for 100 year old cars and wooden or spoke wheeled vehicles.

Mannum Markets: 9am-2pm at Arnold Park, Mannum. Come along and support 40-plus local makers, creators, and small businesses. There's something for everyone. First Sunday of the month.

Journalling workshop/seed swap: 10-11am at Murray Bridge Library. Craft a unique journal from start to finish by utilising mixed media techniques, handmade paper, collage, slow stitching, paint, junk, and any other skills or talents you wish to incorporate.
