This weekend will jumpstart with the return of Tailem Bend's Street Party on Friday night.

If you're after delicious food, fun entertainment, car displays or catching up with a Championship driver, the Street Party is where you need to be.

The event comes before the 2024 Spring Nationals at the Bend, which is sure to provide action for the whole family.

Also on this weekend is The Station's new Bridge City Hip Hop event, set to showcase our local talent.

Even better the event is free and all ages are welcome to come and appreciate hip hop culture.

Spring Nationals, day one: At the Dragway at the Bend, Tailem Bend. The Australian Top Fuel Championship is returning to headline the Spring Nationals alongside a bumper field of National Drag Racing Championship group one, nitro funny cars and sportsman racers at the Dragway at the Bend. Kids 15 and under are free in general admission. Tickets and weekend passes available: www.outix.co.

Free skin cancer screening: 9am-3.30pm in the Station car park, Murray Bridge. This skin cancer screening is provided by volunteers of the Lions Medical Research Foundation. Bookings are mandatory: Call Hylton on 0408 803 723 or Rob on 0419 856 414.

Tailem Bend street party: 4.30-8pm on Railway Terrace, Tailem Bend. The 2024 street party will stay true to its racing roots and will have lots on offer including static displays of vintage, classic, muscle and drag cars along with local working trucks. Live music from Temporary Fix. Mini food truck carnival.

Up The Shed Mallee farmers barbecue: 5.30pm at 119 Piggott Road, Peake. This event is open to all locals involved in farming and their families. It is being held at Daniel and Emily Morgan's at Peake. This is an all ages event, barbecue provided free of charge. BYO drinks and a chair. There'll be no big talks or presentations at this event, just people to talk to. The event will be capped so please RSVP for catering to Emily on 0408 002 665.

Bridge City Hip Hop: 7-10.30pm at the Station, Murray Bridge. A free all-ages event celebrating the incredible talents of emerging hip hop artists from Murray Bridge and Adelaide. This dynamic showcase will highlight the core elements of hip hop culture, including breaking, DJing, beat making and emceeing. Featuring Kirby, Ironic, Subliminal, Lotek 1200, Lucky 38, Inquest, Cutlass Creative, A4Alex, Tommyy Terror and many more.
