Things to do in Murray Bridge: March 5-11, 2021
Mannum Show, Murray Bridge Speedway, Murray Towns cricket grand finals, a Lions fundraiser and more.
There will be plenty for families to do this weekend, starting with Saturday’s Mannum Show and racing at Murray Bridge Speedway that night.
But if you want to support families who are going through a really tough time – and please the kids while you’re at it – you might pop down to Bunnings and grab a sausage from Murray Bridge City Lions.
The Lions Biggest BBQ is an annual fundraiser for the Childhood Cancer Research Association.
Lion Denise James said kids with cancer needed to be spoken for.
“We had a childhood friend of my daughter’s die of cancer a few years ago – that was devastating,” she said.
“It’s one of the hardest things to accept in life, that this child doesn’t get a chance to live.
“Somebody has to try and support them, and that’s what we’re going to try to do.”
They’ll be down there from 9am til 3.30pm.
