Things to do in Murray Bridge: February 11-17, 2022

Two art exhibitions which explore themes of hope, resilience and sustainability will open at Murray Bridge Regional Gallery this Sunday.

A harbinger is something that foreshadows a future event, or a person who initiates change; so the exhibition Harbingers: Care or Catastrophe will challenge audiences to care for our planet or face environmental collapse.

It will feature five artists with strong connections to regional South Australia, including Ngarrindjeri elder Ellen Trevorrow.

The second exhibition, Rural Strength, will feature works by 16 members of local group Bridge Arts: “inspired art drawn from the inner strength of our rural community, their resilience in adversity, their aspirations for the future and their love for their lands”.

Sunday’s official opening is sold out; but the exhibitions will be on show until April 10.
