Council seeks local EOIs for Pondi Playspace
The Rural City Of Murray Bridge is seeking Expressions of Interest (EOIs) from local businesses who want to help complete the Pondi Playspace at Sturt Reserve.
As the Council is set to go to tender for developing the Pondi Playspace, they're encouraging local trades and businesses to submit an Expression of Interest (EOI) to be subcontractors on the project.
With the large scale of the $8.3 million dollar playspace on Murray Bridge's riverfront, Council recognises that a Tier 1 tenderer is required to deliver the project. However, as the successful tenderer will probably need to subcontract a range of services, Council wants to give locals the opportunity to bid for such work.
The type of work that may become available includes civil construction, electrical and hydraulic services, landscaping, structures and public infrastructure, play and recreation, specialist professional services, plant and equipment, material supply and more.
Once local companies submit an EOI, Council will pass on the companies' details to prospective Tier 1 tenderers.
Murray Bridge Mayor Wayne Thorley sees the EOI invitation as a way to develop the know-how of local businesses for other projects in the future.
"This will be the biggest recreation precinct our Council has ever delivered and we want our local businesses with the relevant skills, experience and capability to have a chance to be involved," Mayor Thorley said.
"This will help to grow confidence, skills and experience for our local industries, while increasing their opportunities for future contracts as Murray Bridge moves through a period of strong growth."
