The Tailem Bend-Jervois ferry across the River Murray will be closed for repairs for part of next Thursday, September 4.

The state Department for Infrastructure and Transport advised this week that the ferry would be shut between 10am and 2pm on that date.

Maintenance staff will be replacing some valves.

The nearest available crossings will be the Swanport Bridge, on the South Eastern Freeway, or the Wellington ferry.

The department thanked ferry users for understanding.
