Vive la musique! Vive la France!

Step into the heart of Paris, without leaving Murray Bridge, as the local theatre group presents a brand-new cabaret filled with flair, passion and iconic French music.

Encore: An Evening in Paris brings the spirit of France to life in a dazzling three-act performance, inspired by the colours of the French flag—red, white and blue.

Featuring a talented ensemble from the Murray Bridge Players and Singers, and a rich selection of songs, Encore promises a night of elegance, emotion and joie de vivre.

Encore: An Evening in Paris director, Jayne Rossiter, says her directorial debut began with a simple idea - bringing together some of her favourite songs, which, as it turned out, all had French origins.

"It organically led me down the road of a French theme," Ms Rossiter says.

Rather than one musical its excerpts from multiple French inspired musicals and hits: think The Phantom of the Opera, Moulin Rouge, and Les Miserables.

"It's a real variety of different items in there, so hopefully something to suit everyone's taste."

It's been so much fun bringing my vision to life with the help of the whole team, she says.

Rehearsals started at the end of May: "it's flying by but everything's going smoothly."

The cabaret will be performing on the last weekend of August and first weekend of September at the Murray Bridge performing arts and function centre.

"It's an opportunity to have a great night out with family and get behind your local theatre and community."

"We have a lot of local talent that easily goes unnoticed and under appreciated so this is an opportunity to put them out there and get behind them.

"It's also a great way to have an amazing night out without having to drive to Adelaide," Ms Rossiter says.
