Kaidon Brown has become a two-time Australian speedcar champion after winning the championship final at Murray Bridge Speedway on Saturday night.

After two thrilling nights of racing, Brown would start off of the second row, behind pole sitters Harry Stewart and Brad Mosen.

The finale would finally get underway on the third attempt after requiring two restarts, which led Rusty Whittaker to exit the race early on.

Indy Rae races to Roses victory

Meanwhile, Victorian Indy Rae has put on a dominant display in the formula 500 65 Roses Championship event at Murray Bridge Speedway.

After winning the preliminary feature event on night one of the championship, Rae started off of pole position for the A main and drive superbly to take home the $6500 winner’s cheque.

The speedway and Formula 500s South Australia thanked all feature lap sponsors; the event raised much-needed support and awareness for cystic fibrosis.

Bob Logan takes the win in a tight four-way go

Competitive golf has been the order of the day in last Saturday's men's par competition at Murray Bridge Golf Club.

Plenty of good scoring by in-form golfers took place, with four players finishing with excellent scores of four-up.

Bob Logan had the best back nine of this quartet, a sizzling five up, and so was declared the winner of the day on a countback.

A cool-headed, no-frills golfer, Logan was pleased with his round and hoped to continue the momentum next time around.

Power-hitting A-grader Luke Woods monstered the course for his four up but had to settle with his A-grade win, while soon-to-be-A-grader and teenager Oakley Edwards won the B grade with his great round of four up, leaving veteran Graeme Munt as runner-up on a countback.

Edwards probably didn't sleep on Saturday night after missing a tiddler on the 18th which would have given him the day's win.

That's golf, though, and we've all missed them at some stage.

Logan cleaned up the prestigious pro comp for his brilliant five up back nine, while Murray Bridge's most popular plumber, Corey Dahlitz, played a scintillating iron shot on the awkward par three 14th to claim the richly rewarding yabby.

Yes, it's Easter this weekend but golf keeps on going and a Stableford event awaits.
