Sports reports: Josh Flood plays his 100th game for Murray Bridge United
Plus the latest in rifle shooting, darts and more.
This story includes a contribution from Daniel Irvine.
Starting at just seven years old, Josh Flood's love for soccer was obvious, even playing through some hideous rain and loving every minute of it.
Along the way he played representative football, representing CFSA state soccer in 2018 and 2019, and was selected for a training camp in Spain before COVID changed those plans.
At 16, he stepped into senior soccer with Murray Bridge United, being named most improved player in his first senior season and again last year.
He's also been awarded the A grade Mental Health Round Medal last season.
Beyond his achievements on the pitch, he's a true club man and is always willing to volunteer, lend a hand with the juniors, serve on the committee and manage the bar.
His dedication to Murray Bridge United extends far beyond game day, and he's a valued and treasured member of the club community.
Now he has played his 100th game.

Mark Nesti takes out Murray Bridge Rifle Club championship
Only four shooters have braved the forecast to compete in the final round of the Murray Bridge Rifle Club’s Annual Championship from 400 metres on Saturday.
However, the afternoon turned out to be bright and clear, albeit cold, and most importantly, no-one got rained on while on the mound.
Andrew Heard posted a 48.03, 49.05 to finish on 97.08, four points clear of Mark
Whittle in target rifle.
However the score that mattered was Mark Nesti’s F-open 118.09, which allowed him to leapfrog John Cranwell and finish the season as the F-open champion for the club, 829.65 to 826.70.
Other disciplines were also closely fought, with Gordon Harrison finishing narrowly ahead of Bryan Robertson in F-standard, 776.32 to 770.31.
In target rifle, Greg Traeger finished top, three points ahead of Robert Paech, 691.54 to 688.69.
Club presentations for these and other awards will occur in a month or two’s time.
Next week the club will have an early start, with the Cranwell 15-Shot Match beginning at 9.30am, before the club’s AGM at 1.30pm.
