Sports reports: Fabulous Fabian Poharama flummoxes golf field
Last Saturdays Murray Bridge golf competition saw Fabian Poharama take top spot. Photo: Somchai.

This story includes contributions from Michael Potts.

His two sons have won their share of competition prizes not to mention a club D grade title as well, so father Fabian Poharama thought it was about time he showed just who was boss.

In taking out Saturday's mens Par competition with a quality score of four up, the solid A grader had a shot to spare over a resurgent Shane Williss who won the C grade.

On a very cold day another small field of 63 players battled it out.

Luke Woods returned to form to edge out Mark Bolton for A grade honours while Nathan Ackland did the same to good buddy, well maybe not any more, Garth Dodd in the B grade.

The course is playing well and coping comfortably with the odd recent showers towards the end of winter.

It was pleasing to hear the compliments made about the course from two visiting very low handicap golfers from Grange Golf Club on the weekend (+5 and +3 handicappers!)

They really enjoyed their rounds and said we should be very proud of our course given the condition it is in.

So on that note get yourselves out here for this Saturday's Stableford competition and enjoy a great round of golf.
