Splash back into the Murray Bridge swimming centre

The Murray Bridge swimming centre is set to make a splash as it reopens later this month, with a revamped water play park area.

The 2025-26 swimming season will officially begin at the centre on Saturday October 25, with a family-friendly celebration featuring fun activities.

Last season the facility welcomed a record number of visitors, with people of all ages flocking to the centre to swim laps, learn to swim, join an aqua yoga class, enjoy a picnic and much more.

Visitors can enjoy the water park, test their skills on inflatable donuts and take part in a biggest splash competition on opening day.

A free sausage sizzle will also be available from 12–1pm, along with a free raffle offering great prizes.

In readiness for the swimming season launch, the water play park has been refreshed with a new paint job and upgraded outdoor flooring.

Mayor Wayne Thorley said the centre is a vibrant hub that connects the Murray Bridge community.

“Our regular swimmers will enjoy returning to the pool for their laps and catching up with one another, but it’s become so much more than that,” Mayor Thorley said.

“We’re also welcoming more and more people who come to the centre to connect rather than swim - they’re here to enjoy a picnic on the lawns under the shady trees, meet friends for coffee at the café or just be part of the fun, community atmosphere at one of the many events."

Fees and charges have slightly changed this year although free entry remains to children under three and local residents aged 65+.

The centre features a heated Olympic size pool, a toddler pool, the Water Play Park, gas barbeques and an onsite café.

Enrolments for VACSWIM are currently open and lessons will be held from 19-23 January 2026.

The swimming 2025 to 2026 season finishes on Monday April 6 2026.
