Hundreds of theatre-goers have gone to see the latest offering by the youngest members of Murray Bridge Players and Singers over the past couple of weekends.
Murray Bridge’s town hall was perhaps half to two-thirds full for most of The Spongebob Musical’s run, raising thousands of dollars for much-needed building works by the local amateur theatre company.
Players and Singers had hoped to lock in $400,000 worth of funding promised by the Liberal Party during the recent federal election campaign, but the returned Labor government has not yet matched the commitment.
The company’s next show will be Encore: An Evening in Paris, a cabaret, in August and September.
