Rosie Fuge joins the 50-year club at Murray Bridge Meals on Wheels
The local branch has celebrated three of its longest-serving volunteers.
Three long-serving members of Murray Bridge’s Meals on Wheels branch have been honoured at its annual Christmas function.
Rosie Fuge joined Gwen Parbs and Helen Schubert in a very select group this year: members to have clocked up at least 50 years of service.
Ms Fuge and Ms Parbs both received certificates at Monday’s afternoon tea at Murray Bridge RSL, which was attended by about 80 people.
Ms Schubert was not able to be present on the day.
From a base at the Murray Bridge hospital, Meals on Wheels volunteers deliver hot meals to elderly people living alone, and to anyone else who needs them, every weekday; and frozen meals which can be saved up for weekends.
