Ronald McDonald House Charities has marked 25 years with a heartfelt fundraising drive at the Bend Motorsport Park.
Drivers from all over the state flocked to the track on Tuesday, making generous donations, as well as providing exciting vehicles so the charity’s clients could do laps of the Bend’s 7.71-kilometre GT circuit.
Since 2000, Ronald McDonald House has supported regional families with seriously ill children through care, community, and compassion.
Ronald McDonald House Charities CEO Melissa Monkhouse didn’t mince words when asked what it meant to be part of the organisation’s mission.
“I love it,” she said.
“It’s a great organisation.
“I love what we do, keeping families together – there’s nothing better.”
At the core of Tuesday’s celebration was a powerful mix of community spirit and generosity.
Guests were told that the charity was in the middle of an expansion at its North Adelaide facility, from 20 to 25 rooms, and was adding space to support 140 more families every year.
It was a milestone that meant more than numbers, said fundraising and marketing officer Roxy Jones.

“This expansion means we won’t have to turn away as many families," she said.
“Last year we had to say no to 190 families due to a lack of space.
“That’s something we’re determined to change.”
The renovations are being undertaken by Bella Build and Design.
Their contribution is not just bricks and mortar – it’s a gift of comfort, stability, and togetherness for families going through the unimaginable.
With every room built and every fundraiser launched, Ronald McDonald House Charities continues to prove that love, when shared, builds more than houses – it builds hope.
