Ready, set, grow: Murray Bridge's spring garden competition is on again

Murray Bridge’s spring garden competition is on again, with nominations open until September 30.
You don’t need to have the biggest, most lavish garden to win, either.
There are categories for the best large, small, modern, sustainable and senior’s garden, plus prizes for the best business, school and community gardens anywhere in the council district.
Mayor Brenton Lewis said gardening was a great way to improve your health while connecting with nature.
“Murray Bridge is celebrating the gardens and gardeners that help contribute to the region’s unique environment with their creativity, innovation and passion,” he said.
“This competition highlights the importance of gardens as a source of wellbeing and community pride, and I encourage everyone who has created a little world they’re proud of to come forward and share it with the community.”
Entries will be judged based on their design and layout, plant selection, creativity and environmental friendliness.
Winners will be named at an awards ceremony on October 28.
