Proactive Health is reborn at new location in Murray Bridge
A locally owned allied health clinic is celebrating a milestone move that means more room for its physio, exercise physiology, podiatry, dietetics and other services.

A new era has dawned for Murray Bridge allied health clinic Proactive Health with the opening of its spacious new premises on Chris Collins Court.
Having served the Murraylands for more than 10 years, based out of a local gym, Jo and Matt Carman realised recently that the time had come to spread their wings.
The result?
A beautiful, light, modern space where you can access the full range of services available through the nation-wide Proactive Health network:
- Physiotherapy: Evidence-based treatment for musculoskeletal, neurological and post-surgical conditions to get you moving well again
- Exercise physiology: Clinically prescribed exercise programs for injury recovery, chronic conditions and long-team health
- Podiatry: Expert foot and lower limb care for pain, posture, mobility and injury prevention
- Dietetics: Personalised nutrition support for chronic disease, gut health, weight management and everyday wellbeing
Proactive Health also offers hydrotherapy at the heated pool behind Murray Bridge’s hospital.
Jo and Matt hope to attract other allied health professionals to the new clinic, too.
“As clinic owners, practitioners and parents, we’ve built our lives here in Murray Bridge alongside the people we care for every day,” the couple say.
“Proactive Health was founded on one simple belief: health care should feel close, familiar and supportive.
“We strive to offer genuine care in a place that feels like everyone belongs – our clients and our staff.
“While our address is changing, our purpose isn’t – we’re still the same trusted team, committed to helping our community move better, feel stronger and live healthier.”

Supporting veterans remains central to Proactive Health’s mission, as it has been since the very beginning – that is a service the practice has always been honoured to provide.
Increasingly, though, Proactive Health is attracting clients with a broad range of health and wellbeing goals, from footballers and netballers who want to track their progress and gain an edge, to adolescents or people living with disability.
“The vision that we’ve always had is for complete care, with the different disciplines, in one spot,” Jo says.
“GPs can refer patients to a location and we can offer a sit-down with them to ask: what is it that you need, is it a dietitian, is it exercise, is it physio, is it podiatry?
“A health coordinator can coordinate the care they need.”
Leaving their old home at Inner Soul felt bittersweet, Jo says, but the time had come.
She looked forward to continuing Proactive Health’s strong community focus at the new location, where clients can benefit from both the local team’s expertise and the collective knowledge held by independently owned Proactive Health clinics all over Australia.

National Proactive Health CEO Andy Hank was among the attendees at last Friday’s clinic opening, where loyal clients and staff members’ families mingled while enjoying coffee and a sausage sizzle.
A second open day for the wider community will be held in the coming weeks.
“It’s a good news story, having something like this in town,” Andy says.
“(Jo and Matt) are good operators.”
One client comes and grasps Jo by the shoulder as she is talking to Murray Bridge News.
“I’m only alive because of these people,” he says, sincerely.
Recommendations don’t come much stronger than that.
