Police raids at Mannum uncover drugs, weapons
Plus police penalise three Murraylands locals for traffic offences and one for causing a disturbance.
Police have arrested two men after allegedly finding drugs and guns during two separate raids at Mannum last week.
Detectives from Murray Bridge visited a home on Shearer Street around 8.45am last Wednesday and allegedly found about two grams of a substance believed to be methylamphetamine, plus drug equipment, a small sword and a double-edged knife.
They arrested the home’s resident, 37, and charged him with possession and hindering police.
He would be released on bail soon afterwards.
A couple of hours later, the officers visited a home on Charles Street and allegedly found:
- a mature cannabis plant, a kilogram of dried cannabis and more packed in bags
- two millilitres of a substance believed to be fentanyl
- two air pistols
- a crossbow
- multiple slingshots
The home’s resident, 53, was not home at the time, but police later found and arrested him, too.
He was denied bail ahead of a court appearance in Murray Bridge last Thursday.
Police urged anyone with information about the manufacture or sale of illicit drugs to contact Crime Stoppers, anonymously if needed, on 1800 333 000 or at www.crimestopperssa.com.au.
