Police find gun stashed in stolen car at White Hill
Plus SA Police deal with dangerous drivers and the Country Fire Service tackles a shed fire at Mannum.

A Murray Bridge man has been arrested after police allegedly found a stolen car and an insecure pistol on his property.
Officers arrived at a property at White Hill around 4.30pm on Friday, and apparently found a Ford sedan which had been reported stolen in Adelaide’s northern suburbs 14 months ago.
They allegedly found the handgun inside the car.
The last thing they found was a 26-year-old local man, hiding in a garage.
He was arrested on charges of possessing a gun without a licence, breaching firearms regulations, failing to answer questions about it, illegal use of a motor vehicle and breaching bail.
He was denied further bail ahead of a court appearance in Murray Bridge on Monday.
Speeding driver caught at 170km/h
Meanwhile, traffic officers have caught five drivers doing the wrong thing on Murraylands roads during the past week.
Perhaps most concerning was a 46-year-old man allegedly caught travelling at 170 kilometres per hour – 70 over the limit – on Reedy Creek Road at Pallamana on Sunday morning.
Officers pulled over his Holden sedan just before 10.30am and gave the man a drug test, which allegedly returned a positive result for methamphetamine.
They disqualified him from driving for nine months on the spot, and he may face further penalties pending analysis of the drug test.
Also picked up on local roads were:
- A 25-year-old Murray Bridge woman who allegedly crashed her car on Burdett Road, Sunnyside around 7.15pm on Saturday, with two children in the back, then fled the scene, then was caught and returned a blood alcohol reading of 0.148; she was disqualified from driving for six months and released on bail ahead of a court appearance at which she will face six charges
- A 30-year-old Murray Bridge man allegedly caught at 127km/h in a 100 zone on Reedy Creek Road at Palmer at 2.15pm on Saturday, allegedly while already disqualified; he was reported, lost his car on the spot and will face court
- A 54-year-old Murray Bridge man who allegedly tested positive for cannabis on Mannum Road at Mypolonga at 12pm on Saturday; he lost his licence for three months and may yet be charged pending test results
- A 22-year-old man who is alleged to have been driving on the wrong side of Hillview Road at Pallamana around 6.30pm on Friday, and who allegedly tested positive for methamphetamine afterwards; he lost his licence for three months and may have to face court
Costly shed fire controlled at Mannum
Finally, firefighters have saved a car, boat and home from a fire which broke out in a shed at Mannum last Wednesday night.
Three Country Fire Service units, with 13 firefighters, were called out to fight the fire on Male Road at 8.45pm.
Only about a quarter of the shed was burnt, but the blaze still caused an estimated $150,000 worth of damage.
Nobody was hurt.
Police and paramedics also attended the scene.
